Job Description
Position Purpose: Set up and operate automated machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop theory, procedures, shop mathematics, maintainability, materials, and layout techniques.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
• Operate automated machines using existing programs.
• Test programs and ensure machines are set up in accordance with drawings.
• Remove and replace cutting tools and offsets as required; inspect the condition of tools and replace them
when needed.
• Adjust programs to fit inserts into material, ensuring proper fit and conformity.
• Inspect cut materials/parts before CNC operation to ensure compliance with blueprints, models, and/or
engineering documents.
• Identify materials and appropriate cutting tools; set up materials and inspect them for serviceability.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of related experience or education, including 1 year of experience with similar automated
equipment.
Additional Functions:
• Monitor material supply levels.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machines.
• Complete paperwork and required documentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Comply with 5S, Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
