Job Description
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Entry-level position
• Preferred experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and/or various hand tools used in
upholstery and carpet trades
Position Purpose: Under moderate supervision, fabricate and install upholstery, cover panels, and create simple patterns for aircraft interiors using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications.
Essential Functions:
• Perform technical upholstery functions within design, customer, FAA, and Clients specifications.
• Complete specific installation and trim tasks according to work order instructions and specifications.
• Fit panels and windows, cabin headliners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, and windows.
• Cut and serge carpets, cover bulkheads, fabricate various metal parts, and cover and install panels.
• Create carpet patterns based on design drawings and complete installation.
• Utilize the material tracking system to generate parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
Additional Functions:
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand proficiently in the English language.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
• Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations.
• Must be computer literate.
• Capable of climbing ladders and stairs, working in small restricted areas, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working any shift.
